Bonaparte

Friday night John made dinner reservations for us at a place called Bonaparte which serves French cuisine. We have never eaten at a French restaurant before and we figured what better place to try one then Montreal!

After much deliberation John and I decided to try the tasting menu I did the 4 course and John the 6. Our meals started off with soup I ordered the lobster bisque with ginger and John had french onion. John said his soup was just ok, the lobster bisque was good I just wish it had chunks of lobster in it.

For the second course I ordered salmon and John had goat cheese wrapped in phyllo dough. I didn't really enjoy my salmon I am normally on the fence about salmon I could take it or leave it. I didn't really enjoy this particular dish however only because the salmon was raw and not cooked, John's baked goat cheese dish was delicious!

The third course I did not have but John's dish was snails, I only have one word for them ewwwwww. John made me try on and they were chewy and now very yummy.  To clean our pallets before the main course they gave us sherbet that was in champagne. The first bite I was thrown off because I did not expect the champagne but once I realized what it was it was a good combination.

For the main courses I ordered lobster and shrimp with homemade pasta, John of course ordered a steak. I have no words the amazing deliciousness that was my meal I can honestly say this is one of the best dishes that I have ever had. I had a piece of John's steak and it was also really good, it melted in your mouth.

Dessert was also amazing we were served small pieces of creme brulee, raspberry mousse, chocolate mousse, and cheesecake.

Dinner was amazing and it was nice to spend a romantic dinner with my boyfriend.
