We walked and toured the resort it was huge with gorgeous views! They had parrots all over the lobby for display.
We headed back to the room to relax a little before dinner, getting up at 4am traveling is tiring. :) For dinner we choose a local restaurant la estacion located right down the road from the resort, when we pulled up it was a little sketchy looking and I wasn't sure if it was even a restaurant.
Walking in the dining area was really small only a few tables and not to many decorations. Looking through the menu we weren't sure what to order, it was most a barbecue type of place with all local fresh ingredients.
After what seemed like forever to take to decided we ordered a green papaya salad and this meat on a stick thing in which we chose chicken. The salad was amazing!!! It had green papaya, jalapenos, cashews, and a type of dressing. The chicken on a skewer was the most flavorful and tender chicken ever!
For the entrees I ordered pork medallions with beans and rice and John ordered skirt steak with green banana salad. Both were probably one of the best barbecue grilled meals I ever had! I am not normally a huge beans fan when they are by themselves but Oh my GOD! I asked our waiter what was in them and he told us the secret was olives and pumpkin. I would have never thought to but them in the beans but it made them taste sooo delicious!
After dinner we were both exhausted and stuffed so we just headed back to the room to relax. Tomorrow we plan on spending the day on their private island where the beach is (ooh la la ;) ). I am so excited I love the beach!!
