Vermont lactose tour

As I mentioned previously Sarah wanted to do a food tour or not lactose free tour as we named it of Vermont, on our list was Ben & Jerry's, Cabot and Longtrail brewery. First stop on the tour was Ben & Jerry's.

There were 2 options for the tour a) pay $4 for just the tour b) pay $24 for the tour and t-shirt and a free pint of ice cream. Hmmm not a hard decision a free pint of ice cream and t-shirt! On the tour we were not allowed to take pictures except for the last room the "tasting room".

At the end of the tour we were given a sample of a new flavor called Dulce... I forget the rest of the name but it was amazingly delicious and very sweet I am actually glad we only were given a small sample.

After the tour we headed out to the gift shop to collect our t-shirt and coupon for a free pint of ice cream  then we were off to Cabot cheese factory.

Another amazing location, or just heaven if you will, all the cheese sample  you can eat.

The tour started with a 10 minute video of how cheese is made then we were able to tour the plant to actually see cheese making process.

I really could have just lived here, the town the factory is in is actually called Cabot. These people are very lucky can you imagine having all this wonderful cheese be your neighbor? Heaven

After stuffing our self with free cheese, and then purchasing some to eat in the car we headed south to our last stop of the day Longtrail brewery.

After stuffing our faces with dairy goodness all day we decided it would probably be a good idea to get something else in our stomach.

Yup,onion straws sweet to salty. Hey we were on vacation and it pairs well with the beer sampler we split.

Believe it or not we were actually hungry so we ended up ordering meals (which we didn't know came with fries or we would have not ordered the onion straws)

I decided on the bratwurst with sauerkraut, another food that goes great with beer! I did have a ton of leftovers to take home though.

Longtrail allowed you to do a self guided tour through the brewery so we walked around to check things out.

On the way out we purchased a 6-pack 3 Blueberry wheat and 3 pollinator and for John and double IPA.

Then back in the car for the trip home, we were exhausted and stuffed with to much dairy and fried items.
