Copenhagen Day 3

Day 3 we woke up and it was cloudy and rain and miserable, thank the lucky stars today is the day we decided to do a bus tour of the castles. We got up and walked about 15 mins to meet the bus the plan was to visit 3 different castles in the area I forget the name of the first one. The 2nd one being the current castle the prince and princess of Denmark currently use for their summer home and the 3rd being Hamlet's castle.

Up 1st- the one I don't remember the name of

Look how big this fire place is!!

2nd castle- Current summer home of the prince and princess, we were not allowed to go inside for safety reasons so we took pictures from afar (theirs not ours of course)

rainy
3rd castle- Hamlet's, this one was not very impressive (that is compared to the 1st one we saw) sadly to say they ended up plastering over all the walls and redoing a lot of the inside which was disappointing.

we got to go in all the tunnels under the castle which was pretty cool

from a tower at the top, which took a lot of stairs to get there

lots and lots of spiral staircases in these castles!

outside of course was surrounded by moats

We got back into Copenhagen around 5 and were trying to decided on a place to eat. After looking around in the information center we decided to go in to the Tivoli gardens. Tivoli gardens is basically Copenhagen's version of an amusement park but a lot classier. Once inside we decided on a restaurant called Madklubben, where you pick 3 courses for a set price like Applesbee's but a LOT better and more sophisticated.

I started with the shrimps from the west coast

look how small the shrimps are!
John started with the meat/cheese tray
Round 2- I ordered the pork chop and beans and John the steak and potatoes. We shared the side, well I shared the beans at least.

Last round- we shared a cheese tray

After dinner we walked around the gardens to see the sights only to come upon a free concert. So what the heck, we decided to stay and watch! While waiting for it to start 2 AMAZING things happened!!

a) we found these

Everyone was carrying one, they allow you to purchase 5 beers at once! And not only that they give you this amazing carrier to help you carry them all. This would never be allowed in the US. John and I only bought one and shared but we each had to take a turn getting our picture with it of course.

Amazing event # 2 we found out who was playing the concert

In case the video doesn't come through or you can't hear it well it's the Cardigans! Yup the one hit wonder Lovefool turns out they are pretty big in Europe.

it started raining again :(

After enjoying the free concert we walked around the park a little more to enjoy the lights.

Then I was hungry again from drinking all that beer so we got these!

A hot dog shoved in a bun! I wish we had these in the US holy amazing balls! Not only that but their hot dogs are not hot dogs by our standards. They are more like kielbasa which makes them that more amazing.

This concluded my long fantastic day!
